A refund window with an actual number on it.
Most firms in this industry offer refunds only at their “sole discretion.” We publish the rule instead: a defined window, a defined condition, and a defined outcome — the same way we publish trading rules.
1. Plain-English summary
- 01Untraded account, within 24 hours: full refund, no questions, no “discretion.”
- 02First order placed, or 24 hours passed: the fee is final. You bought a digital service and it has been delivered.
- 03Resets: final at purchase — a reset takes effect immediately.
- 04Our mistake (duplicate charge, billing error, pricing error): refunded in full, regardless of anything else on this page.
- 05Chargebacks: email support first. A dispute filed without contacting us closes the account.
2. The 24-hour unused window
Any evaluation or funded-account purchase is refundable in full if both conditions hold:
- you request the refund within 24 hours of the purchase timestamp on your receipt, and
- no order has been placed on the account — not one. Logging in and looking around does not consume the window; submitting an order does.
Meet both and the refund is granted — it is a published rule, not a courtesy. Refunds return to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. This window applies to all three paths, including Direct: a Direct account is provisioned funded immediately, but if you have not placed a trade within the first 24 hours, you can still walk away whole.
3. When fees become final
The product you purchase is a digital evaluation service — credentials, simulated data, and rule scoring — delivered in full the moment your account is provisioned. Once you place your first order, or once 24 hours pass, whichever comes first, the fee is earned and non-refundable. That holds regardless of trading results, how many trades you placed, or whether the account later fails its evaluation or breaches a rule. Failing an evaluation is a possible outcome of the service, not a defect in it.
Account closure for prohibited conduct under the Terms of Service does not create a refund right.
4. Resets
A reset re-provisions your account instantly at the published reset fee. Because it takes effect the moment it is purchased, resets are final and carry no refund window. Reset prices are published per plan in the Rulebook before you buy.
5. Outages on our side
If a platform or data failure on our side (not your ISP, hardware, or third-party tools) materially disrupts your account, the published remedy is restorative, not monetary: we extend the affected evaluation or issue a reset credit for the affected account, sized to the disruption. We do not charge you to recover from our own outage. Slippage inside the simulation, in either direction, is part of the product and is not compensable.
6. Duplicate & mistaken charges
Duplicate charges, charges after a failed provisioning, and pricing errors are refunded in full once verified — the 24-hour window and the traded/untraded distinction do not apply to our own billing mistakes. Email support@prop.localrootsstudio.com with the receipt and we fix it.
7. Chargebacks
Contact support before disputing a charge. Almost every billing problem is faster to fix by email than through your bank, and legitimate errors are refunded without a fight under Section 6.
If you file a chargeback on a properly authorized charge without first giving us a chance to resolve it, we treat that as a material breach: the associated accounts are closed, pending payout requests are suspended while the dispute is open, and we respond to the card network with the account records, rule logs, and delivery evidence. Accounts closed over a chargeback that the network resolves in our favor are not eligible for new purchases until the amount is settled. If the dispute resolves in your favor, or we simply got it wrong, the account is reinstated and nothing is held against you — using your legal dispute rights in good faith is not an offense.
8. EU / UK consumers
If you purchase from the EU or UK, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. Because the evaluation is digital content and a service delivered immediately, at checkout you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that once the service is fully performed — your credentials are issued and you place an order — you lose the statutory right of withdrawal. Until then, our own 24-hour unused window in Section 2 applies, and nothing in this policy reduces any statutory right that cannot be waived.
9. How to request a refund
Email support@prop.localrootsstudio.com from your registered address with the order number. Requests under the 24-hour window are confirmed the same business day. Any refusal will cite the specific section of this policy it relies on — the same bounded-discretion standard we apply to payouts.
