Bots, algos, and semi-automation
What runs freely, what needs written approval, and how to get it.
Updated 2026-07-06
Always allowed — no approval needed
- Bracket and OCO orders, ATM strategies, server-side stops.
- One-click risk tools, position sizers, and hotkey execution.
- Alert-driven manual trading — a tool signals, you click.
Requires written approval first
- Fully automated systems — anything that opens positions without a human decision per trade.
- High-frequency strategies, regardless of automation level.
Getting approval
Email support@prop.localrootsstudio.com before deploying, with a plain-language description of what the system does, its order rate, and which accounts it will run on. Most reviews complete within two business days. Approval is written, attached to your account, and binding on us — an approved system is never retroactively reclassified.
Deploying full automation without approval is conduct rule #5 — it ends the account even if the strategy itself would have been approved. The email costs you two days; skipping it can cost the account.
The line to remember: if a human decides each trade, you're fine. If software decides, ask first.
